Sun City Hilton Head Community Association Executive Director Sue Sweeney has announced her resignation, effective July 2, 2012.

“I offered my resignation today and will continue to be part of the team for another seven weeks as Wentworth recruits a replacement for my position,” Mrs. Sweeney wrote in her announcement to Association staff.
Mrs. Sweeney joined Sun City Hilton Head as the Executive Director in August 2009. Board members cited several important accomplishments under her leadership as Executive Director.
“Sue’s legacy will be that she significantly strengthened the management staff during her tenure,” said Bill Hornbostel, Vice President of the Association Board of Directors. Mr. Hornbostel specifically referenced the implementation of preventative maintenance and project management programs as important accomplishments for the Association during Mrs. Sweeney’s service as Executive Director.
Board President Allison Tucker also pointed to important changes Sue made to improve services to residents. “Sue has dramatically changed the culture of the Association by putting a stronger focus on customer service for residents. Most residents feel the quality of service from Association staff has improved greatly since her arrival,” Mrs. Tucker said.
Mrs. Sweeney’s last day with the Association will be July 2, 2012. She is leaving her position to move to the Ozarks region where she and her family intend to retire.
“What has been accomplished under Sue Sweeney’s leadership at Sun City is phenomenal,” said Michael Mendillo, President of Wentworth Group Inc.. “We are grateful for her work in bringing customer service up to such a high level at Sun City Hilton Head and we wish her well as she leaves the Association in better shape than she found it.”
