The following is submitted jointly by Al Reuben and Jerry McQuaid as  Board Update #54.

 

A.  Board Changes

1.  Ken Hull has officially resigned from the CAM Board, and Fred Fochtman has been nominated and elected President of the Board by Unanimous Written Consent.  Fred will also maintain his position as Treasurer of the Board.

2.      Glenda Morgan, has been appointed to the Developer’s open seat.

3.      The Board now consists of the following members:

B.  By Unanimous Written Consent, Maureen Wimmer and Albert Bomhoff have    been appointed to the Covenants Committed with terms thru 11/01/04.

 

C.      The recommendation of the Golf and Finance Special Task Force relative to the golf deficit was accepted by Unanimous Written Consent of the Board.  (See Board Update 52 for the specifics.)

 

D.  By Unanimous Written Consent, the Board will allow golf pass holders to purchase additional rounds at the same cost as their original rate for 2003.

 

  1. Highlights of Committee Reports:

The Community Association employs 111 employees, of which 74 are full-time and 37 part-time.

 

The Inter-Club Council Space Task Force has been appointed to provide input for amenity planning.

 

Budgeting process for 2004 has begun.

 

All three Sun City cable television stations are up and running.

            Channels 50 and 52 are maintained by CAM.

            Channel 51 is maintained by the Broadcast Committee.

Channel 50—runs information on upcoming CAM-sponsored special events as well as the video and audio

programs.

                                                Channel 51 is contains club information.

Channel 52 is CAM-specific information, including construction notifications rules and regulations and other information from CAM or CAM managers.

 

There were 248 participants in the Sun City Challenge versus last years 78 participants.

 

The fitness and walking trails along Del Webb Boulevard have been resurfaced.  Work on Argent Way has delayed by the weather.

 

An evening census of the deer population will be conducted in August to determine the extent of the herd, its health, and what

steps can be taken to control its growth.

 

649 applications were approved by the Community Standards Committee, while 84 were denied.  There were 92 Covenants violations during the 2nd quarter.

 

12,139 guest passes were issued during the quarter.

 

Year to date vendor decal revenue is now $88,289.  The AAA motor club is now a participant, although not all of its service companies are yet aboard. 

 

A pilot Neighborhood Watch  Program is being tested in Historic Village.

 

Net revenue for SunSations advertising was in excess of $10,000 during June.

 

The phone book addendum will be delivered with the August issue of SunSations.

 

The unofficial website created by Steve Koehl is http://www.schhca.org and contains a vast array of useful community information.

 

444 applications were approved by the Modifications Committee in the past quarter. 

 

            The Second Quarter SCHH statistics reflect:

                        13 Parking Violations

                        27 Parking Warnings

                        30 Speeding Violations

                          9 Speeding Warnings

                        15 Moving Violations

                        10 Other Miscellaneous Violations

 

The Master Plan Committee continues it’s work regarding if and when SCHH should have a Long Range Plan, and if so, its contents.

 

The Volunteer Recognition Task Force continues to seek out recommendations from residents for the names of those who have positively shaped and advanced the character and quality of life in Sun City and the outside community.  Deadlines for nominations is August 24.

 

The Business and Technology Committee is testing the installation of the secondary database system.
