Following up on the board update regarding Steve O'Donnell's resignation, Al
Reuben and I met with Ken Hull this week to discuss, among other things, the
plan for replacing Steve, in both the short and long term.
For the short term, Bob Pfeffer will act as interim Executive Director.
A truly nationwide search will be undertaken for a permanent replacement.
The resident board members will be able to interview finalists and give input
to the final selection. Of course, the final decision will be made by
Ken.
Of equal interest to the community, Ken Hull will return to the Board of
Directors as President. This is a very positive move. It, in no
way, speaks negatively to Fred Fochtman's recent role as President but
acknowledges the need for the continuity, background, and detailed knowledge
of Community Association operations previously provided by Steve.
As previously mentioned, this will be a challenging period of transition and
it will be very important that the resident board members pull together and
provide some continuity of their own.
