Board Update #94 [2004/08/14]

Hi Folks,

The following is an update from the Board Workshop of August 11, 2004:

1. It was agreed that there is confusion among the residents concerning
our traffic policy and that Bob Mahnke, our Executive Director, should
draft language to clarify the community speeding control policy. His
comments will be presented to the Board prior to the October Board Meeting.

2. The Resident Board Members reviewed the Traffic Study findings
submitted by Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. and presented additional
recommendations for the Board’s consideration. Jerry, Al and I made
these recommendations based on a drive-around performed within the last
few weeks. Ken Hull will review these additions and present to T&H for
their professional opinion. Therefore, a review of the Traffic Study
continues and the community will be apprised of the results of this
Study once all the information has been reviewed.

3. The Resident Board Members noted that signs are now present in the
illegal parking area near the softball field. Further, it was stressed
that there be enforcement of all our parking regulations. It was agreed
that Bob Mahnke secure additional signage related to designated parking
of golf carts in Town Square. It is hoped that the realignment of some
of the spaces for golf carts will free space for additional automobile
parking.

4. It was agreed that Bob Mahnke develop a policy regarding the rental
of CAM facilities with particular emphasis on requests submitted from
outside the community. Jerry, Al and I will work in concert with Bob in
drafting an amended policy taking into account criteria for room rental
and catering guidelines, disruption to nearby residents, liability
concerns, security deposit, etc. Our goal is to have a policy that
protects the lifestyle we came here to enjoy while accommodating
requests from residents, neighborhood communities, service
organizations, CAM and management needs.

5. It was agreed that the Board of Directors Award recognition proceed
as planned for 2004. It was recommended that effective 2005, we honor
all volunteers at a single annual event with a select number recognized
for their special accomplishments. It was determined that no individual
be individually recognized in two consecutive years.

6. The Board of Directors discussed tightening the current policy in
effect for issuing golf refunds. More details will be forthcoming
following discussions with the GAC and Finance Committees.

The Resident Board Members have established a monthly meeting with Bob
Mahnke, the Community Association Executive Director, to address ongoing
community issues.
