Hi Folks,
As we indicated earlier in the year, appointment of a Transition Team to
lead the community in preparing for and completing a successful transition
from developer control to resident control would be a top priority.
The Board of Directors, via a Unanimous Written Consent has just appointed
the Transition Team.
A couple of points regarding this team are important: (1) This team is
unlike a board-appointed committee. There are no term limits, the
processes used to select appointees are different and we looked for a number
of very specific individual skill and experience sets to create the balanced
team we required, (2) The team will stay together until transition is
complete. If a member must be replaced, we'll look for someone with
the same skill and experience sets, and (3) A number of residents indicated
their interest in serving on the team and they were given consideration.
The Board required that the Transition Team be comprised of individuals with
either legal, engineering, human resource management, insurance, financial,
and strategic planning skills and experience. In addition, they
needed significant experience with the community and its operation. No
single individual has all of this, obviously, but we are confident that the
folks listed below, in aggregate, have the skills and experience to do the
job. If you indicated an interest and were not selected, we appreciate
your interest and, perhaps, your skills and experience can be of benefit as
the Transition Team moves forward and seeks additional help or specialties,
but we feel that this team has the best overall credentials that we could
find. Here they are:
Joel Spiegel, Team Leader
Hugh Dinwiddie
Ed Lenta
Dick Eberhart
John Rotty
Wally Hollinger
John Varone
Ira Kirschner
These folks face a daunting task and several years of hard work. They
will begin reporting their progress to the Board of Directors at the April
board meeting. Wish them well.
Jerry
