Board Update #138 [2006/04/19]
The second quarter meeting of the Community Association Board of Directors will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 27, 2006, in Pinckney Hall.
In addition to the normal financial results report, committee reports and Executive Directors Report, there will be a review of the boards' 2006 Goals and Objectives including results as of the end of the first quarter.
Under new business, the Strategic Planning Committee will report on their recommendations to the board regarding a strategic plan for the community. In addition, four proposals will be submitted for vote by the board and resident input for or against these proposals will be taken. The board agenda, including details on the proposals are posted in Pinckney Hall for review prior to the meeting. Very briefly, the proposals are as follows:
Modification Fee Structure-a new fee structure to make the entire modifications approval and enforcement process more self funding.
RV Storage Facility Rule Changes-changes in the rules to allow storage of units with multiple owners and storage of commercially registered RVs.
Guest Policy at the Fitness Centers-guests, with Guest ID Cards, must also pay the normal fee to take classes while visiting the Fitness Centers.
Revision of Lagoon Fishing Lagoons-Changes in how those desiring to fish can reach designated fishing lagoons, how golf carts may be parked by those fishing at a lagoon and a change to a "catch and keep" policy for fish caught in community lagoons.
Residents desiring to speak for or against these proposals may register with Sylvia Higgins either before or on the day of the board meeting. Residents are encouraged to reed the official, posted copies of the proposals before deciding whether or not to sign up to speak.
Finally, after adjournment of the board meeting, board president Al Reuben will give a status update on the amenity planning process.
On a personal note, this will be my final Board of Directors Meeting and I want to sincerely thank all of the residents who have provided support and encouragement as I undertook this demanding job for the past four years.
