Folks,
The Community Association Board of Directors met in workshop on July 12, 2007. Here are the items that were discussed.
Joel Spiegel presented the Transition Team update which will be given at the Quarterly Board Meeting. The presentation is available elsewhere on the website.
Carl Lehmann and Karen Heitman previewed a presentation entitled “Active and Engaged beyond the Gates” by the Government and Business Affairs Committee. The presentation was designed to be given to outside organizations to increase their knowledge about Sun City.
Kim Burgess presented the 2nd quarter financial results and presented the final 2006 audit report. Joel Spiegel recommended that the 2008 budget process be open to residents.
Dave Meseroll reported on the status of several projects and activities.
The Goals and Objectives were reviewed – the same presentation will be given at the Quarterly Board Meeting.
Discussions were held concerning security on the temporary road to Riverbend. There is a guard in place that is funded by Pulte during construction hours and by the Association for evening hours with the gate closed from 12:30 – 5:00am.
It was reported that there are 6 items in process and 2 items yet to be started on the Hidden Cypress Golf Course punch list.
At the main entrance on the North side of 278, there will be two gates – one entering the residential area controlled by bar code and a separate gate into the Sales Office/Model Home area which will be open during the business day and closed at night.
It was reported that the resident survey which was on the 2007 Goals and Objectives will be deferred until 2008. Plans are to define the objectives in detail and engage a professional firm to construct and conduct the survey.
The Transition Team’s recommendation to hire Weissman, Nowack, Curry & Wilco PC as a transition attorney will be placed on the July 26 Board agenda.
Discussions on a recommendation from the Government and Business Affairs Committee to assist Beaufort County in enforcing the business license laws resulted in a suggestion that the Executive Director implement a procedure to provide a list of vendor decal purchasers to the county for follow-up.
Cisco Garcia reported that Sun City Blvd and Red Dam Roads will be repaired through August.
It was reported that the new 170 gate is scheduled to be open by the end of September.
Discussion was held concerning the Chartered Club Rules for new clubs. The Executive Director does not anticipate any changes at this time.
