Sun City timeline, Community Association view January 2002 -- New Memberships (Home closings) were 28 for a total of 2293. For a breakdown, Neighborhood by Neighborhood, click here. January 2002 -- The Board of Directors and the Voting Delegates approved changes in the governing documents (By-Laws, Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions and Articles of Incorporation) that put the election of resident board members into the hands of the Membership rather than the Voting Delegates. Changes in the structure of neighborhood representation were made, as well. This is the culmination of the work of the Community Study Group. February 2002 -- New Memberships (Home closings) were 9 for a total of 2302. For a breakdown, Neighborhood by Neighborhood, click here. March 2002 -- New Memberships (Home closings) were 31 for a total of 2333 April 2002 -- History in the making: Three candidate forums are held for the two open seats on the Board of Directors. One is televised on community cable. April 10, 2002 -- The cutoff date for determining the Members who are eligible to vote for director of the Board. There were 2346 Members as of this date. April 2002 -- New Memberships (Home
closings) were 27 for a total of 2360.
May 2002 -- New Memberships (home closings) were 21

22, 2002 -- The votes are counted. The new directors are Jerry McQuaid
and Steve Koehl.
June 2002 -- New Memberships (home closings) were 17 for a total of 2398. July 2002 -- New Memberships (home closings) were 27 for a total of 2425. August 8, 2002 -- The Board held its first meeting with input from the Membership on questions under consideration. Robert's Rules of Order were fully in force. Three new committees were chartered. The change in meeting format was adopted, one change to governing documents was adopted, one new fee was enacted, two policy changes were made, and consideration of one change in policy was postponed.
