Sun City timeline from the Del Webb/Pulte perspective

Jan. 25, 1996 -- Del Webb announces quarterly earnings 39 percent ahead of the previous year, earning $9.2 million for the fiscal quarter ending Dec. 31, 1995, compared with $6.6 million for the same period in 1994. Total revenues increased 36 percent from $176.1 million to $239.5 million.

March 14, 1996 -- Del Webb unveils a not-quite-finished, $22 million recreation campus at Sun City Hilton Head.

Oct. 17, 1996 -- Del Webb announces that construction on a series of Sun City's boardwalks and community dock is expected to begin by the end of the year.

Dec. 7, 1996 -- Rich Vandermeer begins his duties as the new general manager of Sun City Hilton Head, succeeding Dennis Wilkins.

Jan. 31, 1997 -- Sales figures show quarterly earnings growth of 18 percent for Del Webb, in contrast to a 32.8 percent drop in orders at Sun City Hilton Head.
