BroadcastCharley Mitchell’s sports show “Between the Lines” will make its debut April 16 on Channel 50. The show, highlighting Sun City sports activities, regional and national sports news and scores, will air at 6 p.m. each Wednesday. Marilyn also reported that other activities have been and will be videotaped, including the Friday, April 11, veterans association rally near the fitness center. Her article for SunSations will provide details of upcoming videotaped events. Bob mentioned that he and Bruce Barton had eight hours of instruction on editing, etc., and that at least one more producer is needed. Bruce, who is coordinating the videotaping, is the only producer now. A job description for producers will appear in the next SunSations.

Publications – Holly said this is the first time she had no complaints to report about SunSations. She said chartered clubs will be allowed one free quarter-page ad to publicize events in SunSations. After that, the cost will be 50 percent of the regular ad rate. Articles, photos, etc. about such events would be considered normal club publicity without charges.

Phone directory – The new Sun City directories have been distributed to the approximately 2,800 houses in the community. Bob said 4,200 directories were printed, with copies going to residences, advertisers, Del Webb administration and sales offices and Community Association.

Newcomers – Bea’s report for the April will remain as previously submitted. Her latest report showed for this year, her group greeted 162 newcomers from 89 homes and had nine coffees with 147 people from 84 homes.

Web page – Steve said RCC reports and those from other Sun City groups are appearing on his unofficial web site.

Other stuff – Juli distributed copies of her report for the CAM board of directors’ April 24 meeting. It gives concise details about each subcommittee, plus special thanks to Ed Wiler, outgoing board member.

Note – The RCC will not meet in May. The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, in the Pocotaligo building.
