Meeting minutes from Perry – 8:30 a.m. April 14, 2004, at
Riverbend.
Present – Juli Yale, chairwoman; Bea Boockholdt, Holly Field, Perry Molinaro, Marilyn Fletcher, Roland Faricy, Bob Rasmussen, Joan Schmid.
Absent: Hal Meeks, Debra Garner.
Juli opened the meeting.
Broadcast: Joan Schmid said about six people have agreed to be substitute Sunrise news readers on Channel 50. The April SunSations published the schedule for the Board of Directors candidate forums. The third and final forum at 10 a.m. April 16 will be broadcast live and rebroadcast at 2 and 6 p.m. April 22 and 23. As noted in the March RCC report, the April 29 Board of Directors meeting will be broadcast live and be videotaped
Publications: Holly said Richard Vetter, who replaced Nikki Walsh as communications manager, is placing back into action the practice of not running ads in SunSations unless they are prepaid. He also hired Holly as a part-time assistant. A couple of ads are now appearing on Channel 51.
Phone directory. Bob is working on the directory supplement and it will be included with the July SunSations. The deadline for any changes is June 2.
Newcomers. Bea’s activity report for March 2004 showed 42 newcomers were greeted from 23 homes and three coffees were held with 47 attendees from 30 homes. Totals for the first quarter of 2004 show that 213 newcomers were greeted from 122 homes and that 10 coffees were held with 186 attendees from 115 homes. The Newcomers welcome group’s anniversary was featured in February’s SunSations.
Other stuff: Juli and Debra have met to discuss the information
index (as noted in the March RCC report.) The index will reference the
location to find answers to who, what, why, when and where answers may be
located – such as if referenced in SunSations, telephone book, or Pinckney
Hall Library. Bob suggested that the information index should be included in
the phone directories. Bob also said people are being trained to ignore
traffic signs in the new-construction areas. Construction people don’t want
resident traffic there because of the obvious risks. He asked for suggestions;
Holly said perhaps the construction department should place “proceed at own
risk” signs in those areas. The RCC supported that suggestion.
