Meeting minutes by Perry Molinaro.
Ryan Nelson, Richard’s new
assistant, was introduced at the meeting. He said his first goal would be
to get things organized working with the broadcast subcommittee. He also
will be working with Jody Dorrell on audio during Pinckney programs.
Broadcast: Marilyn asked about appointing someone to head the
subcommittee and whether this would be covered by the RCC charter. Al said
the CAM board will be looking at all organization charters. A question was
whether every subcommittee should have a charter. Holly said she did not
believe subcommittee chairs had to be RCC members as well. Bob favored
having subcommittee chairs serve on the RCC.
Newcomers. (Bea submitted her report for Marilyn and Perry.) Linda
McCartney represented the group at the CAM orientation Jan. 5. Volunteers
greeted 123 new residents from 69 homes and held four coffees with 63
attendees from 44 homes in January.
Publications. Space in SunSations is becoming a problem, Holly reported. A
question centered on allowing space for outside organizations. Richard
stated that CAM decides whether groups fall under outside category. Al
suggested leaving things as they are until this issue is resolved. Richard
will talk with Bob Mahnke, CAM executive director, about this and report
back to RCC in March.
Broadcast. Joan said four reader prospects observed the 10 a.m. broadcast
Feb. 4 and some have agreed to do the Saturday morning show. The Channel
59 schedules continue to run in SunSations. Broadcasts of Board of
Director candidate forums are planned. The RCC agreed that videotaping has
improved. Marilyn asked that Broadcast get program schedules on air so
that viewers have regular access to show hours.
Web sites: Steve said schhca.org continues to evolve. and the
information grows with new neighborhoods. Richard recommended a Web site
to Mahnke that would be easy to maintain at a cost of about $1.50 per
household per month.
Phone directory and map: Delivery of the directory is targeted
for March 1. It will have 125 white pages compared to 100 last year’s. A
SunSations article will remind residents to get changes or corrections to
Bob.
Information map. It was suggested that the map be given out at
the March 5 opening of the Hidden Cypress facility.
Next
meetings: 9 a.m. Wednesday, March
9, in the Coosaw conference room at Hidden Cypress (also holding logo
building at 1 p.m. March 9). Marilyn
will notify everyone about the correct place and time as we get nearer
March 9.
