Okatie North Conference Room
Meeting minutes by Perry Molinaro.
Present – Marilyn Fletcher, chairwoman; Bob Rasmussen, Bea Boockholdt, Perry Molinaro, Richard Vetter. Absent: Debra Garner, Joan Schmid, Holly Field, Al Reuben, Steve Koehl.
Marilyn opened the
meeting. No problems were reported with the August minutes.
Broadcast. Bob said the Finance Committee
approved with no problems the equipment that Richard and Ryan Nelson
recommended to buy for next year. This does not mean the budget has been
approved. Pulte will purchase equipment for the new activities building.
The switcher and other equipment have been repaired. (Bob also submitted a
technical group problem status report.) No word yet on when Channel 51
will be fully operational. The Computer Club is helping with classes for
TV editors. Aside from these technical aspects, Joan has a possible
replacement to head the broadcasting subcommittee. Richard said space for
Channel 51 bulletin board input volunteers will be provided in the Wall
Street room.
Publications. Editing of SunSations material
was scheduled for Sept. 15.
Telephone directory and map. Bob said the photo for the 2006
directory cover was selected the previous night (Sept. 13). Software for
the directory needs to be updated. The updated map is expected to be ready
in November after Land Development provides information on new streets,
including Sun City Boulevard and its new connection with Col. Thomas
Heyward Road.
Newcomers. Bea’s activity report for August
shows five coffees with 91 attendees from 56 homes and 124 people greeted
from 67 homes.
RCC replacements. Interviews with the
11 candidates who submitted applications and resumes for the seven RCC
openings will be held Sept. 20 and 22. Marilyn, Bob and Debra will give Al
the interview results. Bea, Holly and Perry are running for new terms. Ed
Wiler’s remaining term of one year needs to be filled. Terms of Bob and
Steve expire in 2006.
Web sites. Richard’s budget includes two
part-timers, one for site administration and one for advertising. The
Finance Committee recommended that the Board of Directors approve the
budget. The site is expected to be up by December.
Other stuff. Marci
Baggetta, head of the Sunrise Readers program, has done the square for the
10th anniversary celebration quilt.
Next meetings. 4 p.m.Wednesdays, Oct. 12 and
Nov. 9, but 1 p.m. Dec. 14, all at Hidden Cypress.
