Meeting minutes by Perry Molinaro

Present:  Perry Molinaro, chairman; Barbara Wells, Bob Rasmussen, Holly Field, Hal Dutton, Eddy Rayford, Bruce Tennant, Richard Vetter, Irene Hawkins (Strategic Planning Committee guest).

Absent:  Bea Boockholdt, Al Reuben, Steve Koehl.

Perry opened the meeting. Minutes of the November meeting were approved. Irene Hawkins (705-3049, ireneschmidt@davtv.com) of the Strategic Planning Committee was welcomed as a regular guest at RCC meetings.

Broadcast. (See attached revised report from Barbara here.) Barb agreed to work with Richard on making the Channel 50 schedule in SunSations easier to read.

Publications. Holly reported that SunSations will have a new design starting with the March 2006 edition. This will include receiving club news directly from a new CAM Web site. Clubs will have limits on the amount of material sent. Richard planned to meet with Web site representatives the week of Dec. 18 in an effort to move this project forward. Things are running smoothly with the publications group. SunSations has a short waiting list for new ads; more advertisers have agreed to also have spots on Sun City channels.

Telephone directory and map.  Bob said all directory input has been delivered to the publisher on schedule for next year’s book. The proof of the cover has been approved; proofs have not been delivered for the interior material yet. A new street map was provided in November with all streets shown that had closed homes at the time. Unexpected closings in a new neighborhood in December show a need for an additional update, which is being done.

Newcomers. Bea’s activity report for November showed 161 new residents greeted from 89 homes and six coffees with 106 attendees from 43 homes. The “welcome new residents” column in SunSations had 131 names from 70 homes. Note: Bea has been asked to recheck her numbers. Holly questioned whether Bea’s group should give newcomers a map. Bea will also be asked to bring a newcomers package to an RCC meeting for review.

Next meetings. 4 p.m. third Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Hidden Cypress. All other meetings will be at 4 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at Hidden Cypress.
