Subcommittee Reports
Publications: Holly
reported the March SunSations issue will have a new look. The announcements to be made at
the Forum Club on 1-27-06 by the new Pulte South Carolina divisional
president Scott Middleton will be published in the Feb. issue.
Telephone directory & maps: Bob said new phone directories will be
delivered in March. It was suggested that the community do more than 1
addendum a year since growth is so rapid.
The Directory may become available on the new website. New community map came out in
December. An enhanced version was in the Jan. SunSations.
NewComers’ Welcoming Group: Bea reported that in Dec. 05 the group greeted
115 new residents from 66 homes,. Held 2 coffees with 39 attendees.
2005 Year End Report
:the group greeted 1328 new residents (an increase of 428 from 2004) from
756 homes (an increase of 231 from 2004) homes. Held 45 coffees with 834
attendees from 487 homes.
Welcome New
Residents column was discussed.
The column is getting too big reports the SunSations staff. Some double
name owners have been deleted from the column due to lack of space. These deletions will get inserted
in some later column. To make further space, corrections will no longer be
in.
Residents moving
within Sun City will no longer be in the column. It was suggested that all
information in the column be in same size print, making the names “bold”.
A notice will be inserted on the column’s last page stating all
corrections will take place in the next phone book or its addendum. The
residents are responsible that the information they provide CAM is clearly
printed. It has been suggested that a data entry person be found to
transfer the residents’ information from the NC’s card to column
format.
At the Feb. 15 meeting
all RCC members will be given a set of this group’s handout to review
the information. All packets will be returned to Bea. Bea said that this
group gets NO funding from CAM with the exception of free printing. Packet
inserts often include (as available): area maps, Red Cross Emergency
cards, Newcomers’ booklet from the Island Packet, the Learning Exchange
handout.
Bea has been
instructed to bring cost figures for projected needs of local area maps ,
that maybe funding could be provided by CAM in the future.
Broadcast Technical Group: Bob R. gave a detailed report (see attachment here).
Broadcast: Barbara W. gave a detailed report, (see
attachment to here). It was suggested that a recruitment notice
be added at the end of each programming.
Websites: Steve
Koehl’s unofficial website continues until the new website is
successfully on line. Paul Shane, the new ‘official’ Website
Coordinator will be asked to join the RCC in a non voting capacity.
Website classes are being conducted for various groups within Sun City
now, many glitches are being found. Paul
will be asked to meet and discuss new website with the RCC two(2) weeks
after the Feb. 15th meeting.
