Broadcast Technical Group
Perry
opened the meeting. Minutes for Jan. 18th meeting were approved
as written.
Sub-Committee Reports
Broadcast: Barbara W. reported that Judy
Berry has taken over Channel 51 from Bob Cloutier. She strongly stated the
importance
of hard-wiring both Magnolia Hall and Argent Lakes to facilitate broad-
casting requirements. It will be less expensive during construction and as
the community size increases towards build out, will be greatly needed.

Broadcast
Technical Group: Bob R. reported in detail about various equipment. He said analog TV
ends in 2009. We need to be
thinking about upgrading signal quality. The group will come up with
answers by the end of June about the type of TV viewing that will be
available later.

attached addendum
Publications:
Richard V. reported the March issue of SunSations will have a new look !
Telephone
Directory & Maps: Bob
R. said the new directory is at the printer now and delivery will start in
early March. New maps will be available in March.
NewComers’ Welcoming Group: Bea B. stated they greeted
99 new residents from 55 homes. NewComer Coffees: 6 held with 105
attendees from 65 homes.
Bea
attended the Jan. 11th CAM Orientation for new Residents (over
250 attended). The “handouts” the Group prepares themselves that are
given to the new residents were passed out to all in attendance.
Additions/corrections/deletions and any suggestions for improvement will
be appreciated. The handouts are to be returned to Bea.
This
group gets no financial assistance from CAM for materials or coffee
expenses. The cost of Down South Publishers Bluffton & Hilton
Head maps are, lowest price 500-999 copies at 70 cents each. The My
Free Maps map that has both Bluffton & Hilton Head would be good,
publishers not returned Bea’s call.
With all the free advertisement given in the handout, it is
suggested donations be requested to buy needed maps if free maps are not
available.
Web-Site: Orientation training classes continue. Paul Shane is
available at specific times. Many attendees were upset about the club
section and misunderstood that part of the training. As classes continue many of the
“problem areas” are getting addressed and fixed. Like anything
“new”, it takes time to learn, frustrations do occur, be patient.
Eddy
Rayford is the RCC “Group Administer”.
Many of the RCC subcommittees will have there own GA. In the future
some short videos may be available on the website, but our TV channels
WILL NOT BE ON THE WEBSITE. It
was decided Paul would not be asked to join RCC since we have other reps
here who are knowledgeable about the new website. Steve Koehl’s
unofficial website will continue.
New business: none
Old business: The advertising emails many
of the RCC members received from Pulte are still a mystery. Still unknown
is how Pulte got our email addresses; many theories but no true answers.
