Perry opened the
meeting. Minutes of the Feb. 15, 2006, meeting were approved as written.
Subcommittee Reports
Broadcast: Barbara
W. gave report. See attached addendum here.
The TV channels are still not working due to enhancements being done. It
was agreed that the RCC would request support for Sun City TV from the
Board of Directors (Barbara will prepare a draft review for the April
meeting).
Broadcast Technical Group: Bob R. gave report. See attached addendum here.
Publications: Holly
F. reports good comments on SunSation’s changes: easier to read. It is suggested that the CAM
calendar add the day’s name to the event, not just numerals. Also
suggested that the Club Index needs to include Resident
Community Groups list.
Telephone Directory & Maps: Bob
R. said the new phone books were being distributed now. He is already
starting on the 2007 book. A mid-year addendum will be done. It was
suggested it be on the computer and people without access to computers
could get a copy at the CAM office.
NewComers’ Welcoming Group: Bea B. reported for March ‘06 activity that
122 new residents from 68 homes were greeted. Six welcome coffees were held for
91new residents from 58 homes. It was agreed that the handout from this
group needs updating and a professional look. Perry will be helping Bea with
this. There are many duplications from other sources. Need to recognize
Davidson for giving us the three TV channels
Web Site: Richard V stated we need input from the
community. More residents need to start using the site. Educating the
residents to use the site will make it a top communications tool. Names of
all new residents are put in the directory. It is questionable if we can
put in the phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses that people authorized
for use in the Sun City phone book. This will be checked into. The group
agreed that RCC recommend to the Election Committee that Board of
Directors candidates be allowed to campaign on the Web site.
New Business: Bruce
Tennant has resigned from the RCC. The members directed Perry to find a
replacement. Many people feel that CAM notices should be edited by RCC.
Perry will check RCC bylaws to see if we have that authority.
