The 14th Annual Communicator Awards
SunSations – 2008 Award of Distinction Winner
New York, NY/Bluffton, SC (May 28, 2008)
The winners of The 2008 Communicator Awards have been announced by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, and Sun City Hilton Head’s SunSations Magazine has been selected to receive the Award of Distinction for Print Media.
The Communicator Awards is an annual competition honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. This year’s competition received more than 8,500 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, from across the US and around the world, making it the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.
The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 200+-member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current IAVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including:
Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, Yahoo!, and many others.“The incredible quality and diversity of this year’s entries reflected the rapidly changing media landscape and pushed the limits of the medium; and the quality of the traditional work submitted was again remarkable, noted Linda Day, Director of the IAVA. She added, “On behalf of the entire Academy, we are honored to have judged the 14th Annual Communicator Awards and we are proud to honor the best in creativity and execution from the foremost communications professionals in the business”.”
“We are honored and thrilled that the magazine received this national recognition and high regard from such a distinguished organization”, stated Director of Communications, Daniel Baxter. And adds, “The publication is truly a testament to the fine work and symbiotic community involvement of the Community Association, the Communications Department and the many resident volunteers that write, photograph and submit material to help make this publication a beautiful information avenue showcasing the wonderful and active lifestyle they have chosen to lead at Sun City Hilton Head.”
