Protocol for Board Meeting October 24, 2002

We ask that all attendees observe the following requested considerations with regard to broadcasting the board meeting:

Marilyn Fletcher will be the floor manager during the Board Meeting live telecast Thursday, Oct. 24, on Channel 50, Davidson Cable. The meeting is to be replayed at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 and again, same time on Wed. Oct. 30, on Channel 50, Davidson Cable.

Steve O'Donnell,  prior to 10 a.m., will request all residents who are making oral reports to please sit near the standing mike, which is to be placed on the side of the room.

In addition, all those persons who have indicated they wish to speak after the meeting are also encouraged to sit near that microphone.  Then when the question or comment time comes, you'll be directed to stand near the mike, wait your turn, and proceed.

We stress that anyone who speaks must go to the microphone.  Should you begin speaking away from the mike, you will be stopped and reminded to go to the mike. Marilyn will be there to make sure you are close enough to mike, etc.  

The meeting room will be adjacent to the main ballroom stage area, where there is a simultaneous meeting, meaning we may have some sound 'bleeding' through the walls.  Our crew will do all possible to keep mikes close to speakers. We would like to try to use just the one stand mike for reports and questions from residents.  If necessary at next meeting, we can return to a 'roving mike', but that is difficult for camera shots, resulting mostly in shots of the persons from the back or bad angles.
