Resident Communication Committee Report For The
Board Of Directors Meeting, July 24, 2003
Report by Juli Yale, Chair
Reporting at the Board of Directors meeting will be Chair, Juli Yale
v Broadcast: Chair, Marilyn Fletcher reports –June channel changes went smoothly. To clarify the three-channel setup: Channel 50 carries CAM activities and ticket information when no videos are being shown, plus Charlie Mitchell’s “Between the Lines” Wednesdays at 6:00pm show and the Monday through Saturday 10:00am sunrise news readings. Channel 51 has club activities and Channel 52 is CAM’s bulletin board. “Make them a habit.”
v Newcomers Welcome Committee: Chair, Bea Boockholdt reports - year to date, thru May:
244 newcomers were greeted from 162 homes
13 coffees with 198 attendees from 121 homes
v Publications: Chair, Holly Field reports – Revenue with SunSations was more than $10,000 in the month of June. Communication Manager, Nikki Walsh, receives an average of three calls a day regarding advertising. Publications Committee has increased in size and are working as a team with Nikki for input and proofing. We could always use a few more writers to help us keep up the communications we would like to include in SunSations.
v Telephone Book: The phone book addendum will be delivered along with the August SunSations. Our directory publisher is considering a March rather than April publishing date for the next telephone directory edition.
v Web Site: – Nikki has met with Steve O’Donnell about updating the delwebblive site but the current system-wide procedures do not permit us to make the changes desired. For current Sun City information, many are using Steve Koehl’s “unofficial” web site. RCC is moving forward with a campaign, suggesting residents change their personal home page to our “unofficial” web site. This provides a quick reminder to easily review the latest Sun City happenings. “Keep up to date within the gate.”
