Resident Communication Committee Report For
The Board Of Directors Meeting, April 30, 2004

Reporting at the Board of Directors meeting will be Chair, Juli Yale

v     Broadcast: Newly appointed RCC member and co-chair of Broadcast, Joan Schmid, announced board candidate interview videotaping scheduled to be played the first week of April.  Candidate forums will all be videotaped plus two forums will also have live broadcasts.  The Board of Directors meeting April 29 will also be broadcast and videotaped for rebroadcast.  New programming has begun titled “Know Your Community Leader.”  Channel 50 broadcast schedules may be found monthly in SunSations on the Community Association Report page.  Joan and fellow co-chair, Marge Yanker, along with the broadcast and programming committees are coordinating areas of responsibilities.

v     Newcomers Welcome Committee:  Chair, Bea Boockholdt reports – January and February coffee statistics:

171 newcomers were greeted from 99 homes.

   7 coffees in private homes were given with 139 attendees from 85 homes.

The Newcomers Welcome Committee was featured in February’s SunSations

v     Publications:  Chair, Holly Field reports –Nikki Walsh’s last day as communications manager was March 19.  Richard Vetter from Del Webb accounting is her successor and his first meeting with publications group was March 8.

v     Telephone Book: Chair, Bob Rasmussen reports - The new directory publication was distributed in March.   

The Resident Communication Committee has two new projects: 

            New resident, Bob Nachman, has proposed a map listing businesses and housing developments from Sun City to Hilton Head.  Juli is coordinating its publication with Bob Nachman, Bob Rasmussen and Pulte.

            The second project, being coordinated by Debbie Garner, is for the publication of an information index which would list available resources for the who, what, why, when and where answers may be found, such as if referenced in SunSations, telephone book, or Pinckney Hall Library.
